Linda Small is a highly motivated Freelance Arts professional, Festival Organiser, Stage Manager, Events and Projects Consultant with over 10 years experience in organising all operational aspects of events, project management and arts development throughout London.
The list of clients who have benefited from her expertise include WOMAD, Urban Development, Spread the Word, Urban Voice UK, Television and Young People, Solutions @ Gem, The London Borough of Barnet, Bexley Council and National Council of Barbadian Associations.
In her various freelance roles, Linda has produced and stage managed an Awards and Gala Dinner Ceremony for Barbados 40th Independence Anniversary at Novotel Hotel in Hammersmith; a Charity Masquerade Party at Market Bar in Tower Hill; online marketing for a nationwide talent search competition; Artist Hospitality at WOMAD; programmed and event managed a Health seminar in Brixton and programmed live performances and workshops at Artsdepot in North Finchley.
Linda’s background had been achieved by organising her own cultural diversity, youth arts and educational events/workshops then working as an Arts Events Officer for the London Borough of Redbridge planning the Redbridge Show (multicultural community festival). She also launched and co-ordinated the borough's first Black History Month programme and organised a Dance Festival and Arts Festival. Linda was also an Events Officer for the London Borough of Southwark where she co-ordinated the Southwark World Village Millennium Festival before becoming a Freelance Consultant in April 2005.
Linda founded Motion Events in 2005, an Events Management company based in Brixton, London. The services offered include; Events Consultancy | Artist Development | Stage Management | Project Management | Arts Education | Marketing | Promotions.

The Artist Management side of the business began in January 2007 when Linda managed an exciting unsigned, Neo-Soul Singer/Songwriter who performs with a wonderfully talented collective of Jazz/Funk musicians. Linda has helped to raise their profile by obtaining gigs within the clubs and festivals circuit at venues all over London and the UK. In 2008, Linda is now managing Poppy Seed, an unsigned Performance Poet with a 6 piece band that delivers a concept of conscious poetry and live music with its unique spin on poetic Soulful, Jazz, African Roots, Rock, Reggae and Pop influences which embrace and enhance the themes of her poetry. Linda is helping to re-establish her career on the London poetry music scene and festival circuit with a new album.
Linda is looking to expand on her portfolio of events and projects with corporate clients and collaborate and work with more artists. Motion Events will also be producing live music nights creating a platform for new, immerging artists to perform.
